Asbestos Paralegal

Meirowitz Wasserberg, LLP is a trial law firm dedicated to helping injured people get the justice they deserve, with offices in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, North Carolina, Illinois, Florida, California, and Texas, representing only people — not corporations. The firm is looking for an experienced Asbestos Paralegal to join its Midtown Manhattan office. The ideal candidate will have 2 years of prior Asbestos Litigation experience, though an experienced Personal Injury Paralegal will also be considered. This position is full-time and will be based in the office 5x per week (work location: in person). You will: assist in the preparation of legal documents such as complaints, service lists, motions, and discovery requests/responses related to asbestos cases; organize and maintain case files, ensuring all documents and evidence are properly indexed and accessible in Smart Advocate; monitor the docket and make sure all filing deadlines are met; interact with clients to gather information, provide updates on case progress, and assist in answering questions and concerns; conduct legal research to support attorneys in asbestos-related personal injury cases, including gathering information on asbestos-containing products, exposure sources, and relevant laws and regulations; and perform administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing calendars and handling correspondence related to asbestos cases. Requirements: You have: 2+ years of experience as a Personal Injury paralegal. Proficiency with Windows-based software and Microsoft Office Suite. Nice to have: 1+ year of experience as an Asbestos Litigation Paralegal; 1+ year of experience using Smart Advocate.
